The Sixth Annual Southwest Shakers and Community Impact Womenís Recognition luncheon will be Friday, November 22 at the Junior League Building, 1811 Briar Oaks Lane.The luncheon, sponsored by Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital and the Greater Southwest Houston Chamber of Commerce, begins with networking and trade tables at 11:15 a.m.

 

The monthly networking breakfast of the Greater Southwest Houston Chamber of Commerce will be held Thursday, November 11 at the Houston City Club, One City Club Drive.Networking begins at 7:00 a.m., followed by a breakfast buffet.There is also time for self-promotion for Chamber members.

 

Several outstanding business leaders have been named to the 2005 Board of Directors of the Greater Southwest Houston Chamber of Commerce.Incoming Chairman is Randall Dobbs of Community National Bank.Officers are Chair-Elect Kenny Mercado of CenterPoint Energy, First Vice Chair George Gaston of Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, and Treasurer Kevin Tucker of Excel Delivery.

 

The Womenís Information Network RevUp! sponsored by the Greater Southwest Houston Chamber of Commerce will hold an after hours event from 5-7 p.m. at Best Cellars, 5000 Westheimer, on Tuesday, November 16.

 

And the number one reason to join the Chamber is_______________!What would you put in the blank?Most of the members of the Greater Southwest Houston Chamber of Commerce would say they joined to grow their businesses.They joined so that their names, addresses, and phone numbers would be listed in our annual business directory.They joined so their websites would be hot linked to ours when people go online to look for businesses they need.They joined so they could attend the many events hosted by the Chamber each month.But what else does the Chamber do?

 

This December the Greater Southwest Houston Chamber of Commerce is holding only one major event.On Thursday, December 9, we will host the Holiday Happening at the Park Plaza Hotel Reliant Center, 8686 Kirby Drive (corner of Kirby and Loop 610 South).

 

Itís As Plain As Black & Whiteóthe Chamberís Here for You! is the theme of the 2004 Chairmanís Gala which will be held Thursday, January 20, 2005.Presented by the Greater Southwest Houston Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Reliant Energy, Community National Bank, and Tradition Bank, the Gala is a fun-filled evening that honors the outgoing chairman and board members and welcomes the incoming ones.It also recognizes outstanding volunteers and businesses.
